Tunisian Consulate in Benghazi Resumes Operations After Ten-Years Closure

(MENAFN) The Libyan Foreign Ministry expressed its approval on Monday regarding the reopening of Tunisia’s consulate in Benghazi, eastern Libya, ending a closure that lasted ten years.

According to an official statement, this move is the result of joint efforts aimed at improving consular support for both Libyan citizens and the Tunisian community residing in the eastern region.

The ministry emphasized the significance of advancing shared interests between Libya and Tunisia while strengthening diplomatic and political collaboration between the two neighboring nations.

Earlier, on Sunday, Tunisia’s Foreign Ministry confirmed the reopening of its Benghazi consulate. The facility had shut down in 2014 after militants launched a grenade attack that damaged the exterior wall of the building.
