Erdogan, Georgian PM discuss rescue efforts after Turkish army plane crash
During the call, Kobakhidze expressed his condolences for the soldiers who lost their lives in the incident. For his part, Erdogan thanked the Georgian leader for his support and sympathies.
Earlier on Tuesday, a Turkish C-130 military cargo aircraft traveling from Azerbaijan crashed in Georgia. The aircraft was carrying 20 people, including the flight crew, and search and rescue teams were immediately deployed.
According to reports, Georgian search and rescue personnel reached the site of the wreckage at 5 p.m., and the area has been secured to allow Turkey’s crash investigation team to conduct its examination.
