Germany Sees Moderate Rise in Wholesale Prices

(MENAFN) Wholesale prices in Germany climbed by 1.1% in October, slightly lower than the 1.2% increase recorded in September, according to official data released on Wednesday by Destatis.

The rise was largely driven by elevated costs for food, beverages, and tobacco, which on average were 3.5% higher than in October 2024, Destatis reported.

"Year-on-year prices also increased significantly in the wholesale of non-ferrous ores, non-ferrous metals and non-ferrous semi-finished metal products (+26.3%)," the agency added, highlighting notable growth in these sectors.

In contrast, wholesale prices for mineral oil products experienced a decline of 2.1%.

On a month-to-month basis, wholesale prices edged up by 0.3%, reflecting a modest short-term increase.
