Iran Warns US Talks May Be Halted Over Continued Strikes in Lebanon
According to reports carried by Iranian news agency, Qalibaf made the remarks during a phone call with Lebanese Parliament Speaker and Amal Movement leader Nabih Berri.
He said Iran has been actively engaged over the past two days in efforts aimed at stopping the Israeli attacks, but cautioned that continued hostilities could lead Tehran to halt diplomatic engagement and take a more confrontational stance toward Israel.
According to the report, Qalibaf stated that if what he described as “crimes” persist, Iran would not only suspend talks with Washington but also “stand against” Israel.
He also emphasized that any potential agreement between Iran and the United States would depend on a halt to attacks across all fronts, particularly in Lebanon.
Qalibaf added that Tehran remains committed to pursuing a ceasefire in Lebanon, especially in the southern regions of the country.
