Anthropic Expands AI Security Program to Protect Critical Infrastructure
The company said the program provides selected organizations with access to Claude Mythos Preview, an AI tool that analyzes codebases to detect security vulnerabilities.
Initially launched in early April with around 50 partner organizations, the program reportedly helped identify more than 10,000 high- or critical-severity security flaws across participating systems.
Anthropic said it is now adding about 150 additional organizations to the initiative. These participants must meet strict security requirements before gaining access, according to reports.
The new members span more than 15 countries and include organizations operating in essential sectors such as energy, water, healthcare, communications, and hardware infrastructure. Many of these entities support systems used by governments and other critical institutions.
According to reports, Anthropic estimates that a successful breach of some participating systems could potentially affect more than 100 million people, highlighting the broader national and global security implications.
The company also warned that rapidly advancing AI-driven cyber capabilities could soon be accessible to malicious actors, increasing the urgency for defensive systems to evolve.
As part of the expansion, Anthropic has introduced additional tools under its Claude Security offering, aimed at helping organizations scan codebases and recommend security fixes.
